London family planning summit could compensate for Rio+20 failures – if fundamentalist religion will get out of the way
Women around the world were rightly furious that the term “reproductive rights” was removed from the outcome document produced at the UN's Rio +20 conference on sustainable development last month according to national environment group, Sustainable Population Australia (SPA).

There’s a growing volume of letters to daily papers with story after story of community outrage at Victoria’s Planning Minister.
The illogical actions of Minister Guy last week over the Ventnor matter is far from a one-off as people around the state send in their particular tale of Ministerial interference or inconsistency.

On October 31st the world’s population will zoom past the 7 billion mark just 12 years after reaching 6 billion. Despite taking all of human history up to 1800 to reach 1 billion, many seem to think the phenomenon of ever increasing human numbers is inevitable and normal!

Some global media is taking note of the dubious milestone of 7 Billion people on earth such as the UK's Guardian. It has published an article by Roger Martin, chair of SPA's UK counterpart, Population Matters. We don't currently see any major Australian newspapers publishing articles similar to this.
