8 March 2017 Silent auction of paintings 2017News PLEASE NOTE: The Auction has closed For the second time, Kimberley artist and SPA member, Jackie Ellis has generously donated paintings to SPA. The 2 works are now to be auctioned and are described below. Both were created to raise awareness about the damaging effects of all too frequent fires in the Kimberley. For more about this go to http://www.journeyfree.com.au/news.html -Bids will be accepted until 5.00pm AEST May 12th and winning bidder(s) will be notified the following week- The works to be auctioned are : 1. “Ecology Connected to Everything Else” which shows man-made Lake Argyle in the Kimberley through a red fire haze. Oil on canvas 30 inch x 48 inch (76 x 122 cms.) Bids of $1,500 and above will be accepted Silent Auction 2017 – Bid on Ecology Connected to Everything Else$ 2. “Ecology – Everything is Connected” in which we see a foreground of flames almost obscuring Lake Argyle. Within the flames the shape of a bird in flight can be discerned, a possible message that there is still hope of nature recovering. Oil on Canvas 30 inch x 48 inch (76 x 122cms.)
