The earth’s carrying capacity

The initial web site contained a collection of five literature reviews done to understand the global magnitude of the loss and degradation of some of the earth’s key life-support systems. These reviews were later used in an analysis of the sustainability of the global outputs of food, wood and freshwater, and also to compile a lot of land area and aquatic area data. That motivated an analysis of what the earth’s carrying capacity is, based purely on the productivity of the bottom of the food chain – the process of photosynthesis (neglecting other constraints such as fossil fuels, living space, etc.) http://home.windstream.net/bsundquist1/index.html
