In-person and livestream. Don’t miss this conversation
In 1992, the Council of Australian Governments adopted the National Strategy for Ecologically Sustainable Development. It resulted from a process involving nine working groups – agriculture, mining, manufacturing, forestry, water, energy etc. The National Strategy would have been a sound framework for Australia’s development.
There is no sign of governments following those principles. State of the Environment reports show worsening problems. Sustainable development is still possible, but requires both a recognition that natural systems have limits and a willingness to shape our lives within those limits.
The venue is upstairs at The Duke of Brunswick Hotel, 207 Gilbert St, Adelaide 5000. Free event, including nibbles after the talk. Arrive early and buy yourself a drink at pub prices downstairs before coming upstairs.
