It’s the numbers, stupid! — Sustainable Population Australia rejects race-based immigration rhetoric
Sustainable Population Australia (SPA) has rejected any suggestion that immigrants should be judged by race, religion or cultural background, stating that Australia’s population challenges are driven by scale, not identity.
SPA argues that rapid population expansion — from any source — is placing pressure on:
- Housing affordability and availability
- Infrastructure funding and service delivery
- Environmental sustainability and biodiversity
- Commute times and congestion
- Public finances and long-term budget sustainability
