Following formal business our guest speaker, Dr. Geoff Mosley will reflect on his 60 years of involvement with conservation, the lessons learned, and the way ahead.

The Federal Government’s recent Budget decision to boost to skilled migration from 180,000 to 190,000 flies in the face of a survey that shows 51 per cent of Australians believe population growth is out of control, according to Sustainable Population Australia (SPA).

Research by Australia shows the number of people wanting to close the border to immigration has risen from 41 per cent in 2005 to 51 per cent.

Dr Jane O’Sullivan, an experienced expert campaigner and SPA’s Queensland Branch president, will attend the important Rio+20 meeting. We are fundraising to support her and SPA’s presence there. Please visit our main Rio+20 page for more details.
